The Culley Concerto Competition is open to all students enrolled at Dartmouth College, offering performers of woodwind, brass, string and percussion instruments the opportunity to perform a solo work of their choosing, with professional accompaniment, for a panel of professional judges.  Each performer in the competition, competing in one of three categories (strings, woodwinds or brass/percussion), will receive written comments and scores from our panel of judges and winners will be selected for cash prizes, using the following structure:

Best Overall Performance - $500

1st Prize in each category - $200

Runner-Up in each category - $100

Each entrant is invited to perform a maximum of 10 minutes of the work of their own choosing.  For a major concerto, 10 minutes likely represents one movement of the work.  This work need not be limited only to concerti, and may include sonatas or other solo works originally composed for your instrument, as well as unaccompanied works.  If the work includes accompaniment, that accompaniment must also be performed.  A professional accompanist is provided for the competition (plus a 30 minute rehearsal with the accompanist prior to the competition), however, you are welcome to supply your own accompanist if you wish.  Rehearsals with the competition accompanist will take place on Saturday, April 21.
